The project, which was successfully implemented earlier, is now presented in an updated format that takes into account the wishes of the residents. It combines traditional craft skills with modern creative approaches, demonstrating that art, ecological awareness, and social unity can coexist and complement each other.
The organizers emphasize that the main goal of this project is the integration of national values into the modern urban space.
“The idea of the eco-tree in the style of құрақ-көрпе returned to Astana at the request of local residents. The project was first implemented in 2020. This time, we aimed not only to repeat the idea but also to significantly update it by adding new elements. The concept is inspired by the Year of Working Professions and the Year of the Horse, symbolizing respect for labor, movement, strength, and connection to traditions. All textile toys for the tree were handmade by residents, from children to the elderly,” said Rahima Mukusheva, the project organizer.
