On December 31, a concert was held in the Malachite Hall of the A. Maldybaev National Opera and Ballet Theater, where a new Steinway & Sons model D-274 piano was presented. The press service of the Ministry of Culture shared this information.

The piano was purchased on December 15, and its cost amounted to 25 million soms, as noted by the Minister of Culture Mirbek Mambetaliev in an interview with AKIpress earlier.

Among those present at the event were Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov, Minister of Culture, Information and Youth Policy Mirbek Mambetaliev, Theater Director Muratbek Begaliev, as well as many representatives of art and culture.

The ministry emphasized that the issue of updating the pianos in the theater has been relevant since the 1980s and 1990s.

"There are about twenty manufacturers of concert pianos in the world. However, 94% of renowned pianists choose Steinway pianos for performances with symphony orchestras," the statement added.

Additionally, tenders are currently being held for the procurement of modern sound and lighting equipment for the theater.
