The issue of updating musical instruments has not been addressed since the 1980s
The Malybaev Opera and Ballet Theater in Bishkek has acquired a D-274 piano, manufactured by Steinway & Sons. This was announced by the Ministry of Culture.
The purchase of the piano took place on December 15, and its cost, according to Minister Mirbek Mambetaliev, amounted to 25 million soms.
“The problem of replacing old pianos in the theater has been relevant since the 1980s. There are about 20 companies in the world that produce concert pianos, however, 94% of renowned pianists prefer to use Steinway pianos when performing with symphony orchestras,” the Ministry of Culture added.
