At the meeting of the "Ala-Too" parliamentary group dedicated to discussing the state of the textile industry, employment, and the economy, Temir Sariev, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan, emphasized that the country has created some of the most favorable conditions for tailors.
He noted that during visits to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, local entrepreneurs express concern about competition with Kyrgyz producers. Additionally, Russian buyers point out that the qualifications of Kyrgyz tailors are 3-5 times higher, and the quality of products meets European standards.
“I have always stressed that we should focus on producing not only t-shirts and underwear but also more expensive clothing,” he added.
The head of the Chamber of Commerce also discussed cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, noting that sometimes incorrect statements are made by certain deputies and bloggers in society.
“Russia is the main market for our products, where almost 100% of exports go. Therefore, it is important to closely monitor the state of the textile industry,” Sariev noted.
He also mentioned that in the context of the economic crisis and budget cuts in Russia, the requirements for imported goods have become stricter.
“Previously, many issues were resolved more easily, but now strict rules regarding VAT and documentation have been introduced. We need to organize the process ourselves, properly document goods and accompanying documents to facilitate the process. The market is changing, and the policy has also changed,” he emphasized.According to him, about 90% of sales today are conducted through marketplaces, and Kyrgyz producers need to be ready to adapt to new conditions.
