New restrictions regarding foreign aid have been introduced in the United States. These measures concern the funding of programs related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), as well as family planning initiatives and the so-called "gender ideology." This was reported by Reuters.

It has become known that the U.S. State Department has ordered a review of all existing aid programs to ensure their compliance with the new requirements.

These rules will come into effect on February 26, and the total amount of funding subject to the restrictions is approximately $30 billion.

The restrictions apply not only to foreign non-governmental organizations but also to American entities. Foreign NGOs are prohibited from using funds from non-American donors if the goals of their programs align with what the U.S. administration considers "radical ideology."

Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed the possibility of exceptions, noting that the new measures should not negatively impact "programs aimed at saving lives, responding to natural disasters, and other critically important priorities."

It is worth recalling that one of the first decrees of Donald Trump after his inauguration was to halt funding for programs supporting social and gender groups across all federal agencies. The administration argued that such initiatives lead to "positive discrimination," where hiring or resource allocation considers racial, gender, and other characteristics rather than professional qualities.

Later, the Government Accountability Office began terminating contracts related to such programs in the fields of education and healthcare. As a result, several American corporations announced they would cease using these principles in their hiring practices.
