Recent data published by the Ministry of Internal Affairs sheds light on crimes committed against children left without parental supervision due to migration.

At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on International Affairs, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Nurbek Abdieff reported on the regular monitoring and analysis of the situation of children whose parents are away from home. He noted that the agency is studying both the number of such children and the statistics on crimes affecting them.

According to the information presented, 39 cases of violence against children under the care of relatives have been recorded. Violent acts are perpetrated by stepfathers, other relatives, and neighbors.

Additionally, situations were noted where both parents leave, leaving children in the care of grandmothers or other relatives. In such cases, Ministry of Internal Affairs staff, together with social workers, conduct outreach activities to assess and provide assistance.

There have been cases where children deprived of parental supervision left their homes and remained unsupervised for several days, making them vulnerable to violence.

Deputy Gulya Kozhokulova proposed that the General Prosecutor's Office hold a coordination meeting dedicated to the issues of migrant children left in the care of relatives. She emphasized that this issue should be addressed separately and prioritized at the upcoming meeting involving the General Prosecutor.
