“It is incorrect to compare the training of pilots and drivers, as the requirements and responsibilities in aviation are at a completely different level,” emphasized Kurmanov. He added that in global practice, pilot training takes from seven to ten years, not just a few months.
According to Kurmanov, the training process includes at least two years of theoretical education, followed by 8–12 months of intensive practical experience in the air to obtain an international license.
Cadets not only master the skills of flying an aircraft, but they also learn to make complex decisions, work in stressful situations, and interact with air traffic controllers, as well as familiarize themselves with international safety standards.
“The opinion that appears on social media that a pilot can be trained in a month is a misconception,” he noted, warning against misunderstanding: “This statement does not reflect reality and can create unnecessary tension in society. The training of a pilot and a driver are absolutely different professions, and the difference between them is indeed like night and day.”
Kurmanov also added that responsible driver training is extremely important, as it concerns road safety: “The level of driver training must be high, as the lives of both passengers and other road users depend on their knowledge.”
