After the relocation of the Osh market to a new location, the authorities clarified how trading places will be organized. Entrepreneurs will be able to rent them directly from the state, with no possibility of resale. This was announced by the head of the president's office, Kanibek Tumanbaev, at a meeting with traders.
Tumanbaev emphasized that the market remains state property, and therefore any intermediary schemes or subletting are not allowed. All financial proceeds from rental payments will be directed to the budget.
The rental of trading places will be free, and entrepreneurs will only be required to pay a basic rental fee.
To organize trading operations, a special commission is planned to be created, which will account for traders and distribute places based on the assortment of goods. Priority in distribution will be given to those entrepreneurs who have been working at the Osh bazaar for a long time, pay taxes regularly, and have the appropriate patent.
Tumanbaev also urged entrepreneurs to put their documents in order and not to succumb to rumors about the sale of trading places.

As for the existing market, its demolition will take place in stages, starting with the clearing of the territory towards the "Batken" market. "A park will be created on the site of the old Osh bazaar, and a hospital will be located on the territory of the "Kiyal" market," the official added.
In addition, to improve transportation accessibility, 180 new buses will be launched, which will operate to the new Osh market.
The new Osh market is expected to open on August 1 of this year.
Recall that the authorities of Bishkek began discussing the relocation of the Osh market in 2023. The new market is being built in the northern part of the capital, outside the central area of the city. The project includes a large trading complex with covered pavilions, warehouse facilities, necessary engineering infrastructure, and parking.
At the end of January 2026, information was announced about the start of the implementation of trading premises at the new site, while entrepreneurs expressed concerns that the relocation could lead to the closure of the old market before the new facility is completed and that trading places would be provided on a paid basis.
