The UAAA provided clarifications regarding the free replacement of driver's licenses.
Recall that the day before, Kanibek Tumanbaev, the head of the president's office, made an official statement about the free replacement of these documents.
On his Facebook page, he announced that "in accordance with the president's directive, from January 15 to February 15, 2026, there will be a free exchange of old-style driver's licenses that do not have an expiration date," and urged citizens not to postpone the replacement process.
The UAAA clarified that this free replacement only applies to holders of indefinite licenses. "If a citizen is unable to replace their license during the specified period, they will be able to do so later, but on a paid basis. Specific deadlines for paid replacements have not been established," the agency explained.
Additionally, the UAAA noted that licenses can be replaced at any time: in a week, a month, or even within a year. The replacement process will be available, but at the established rate. All other categories of citizens will be served according to the usual procedure without any changes.
