Sydygaliev noted that the Republican Center for the Prevention and Control of Particularly Dangerous Infections operates within the Ministry of Health, which has sanitary quarantine points at the borders with third countries.
He also added that in the event of outbreaks of infectious diseases, temporary quarantine points may be organized with Kazakhstan. As of the end of 2025, there have been no recorded cases of infections such as plague, anthrax, and rabies, although other infectious diseases were under the control of sanitary services.
Previously, a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers regarding the "Approval of the Rules for Sanitary Protection of the Territory of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Comprehensive Plan for Anti-Epidemic Measures for 2026–2030" was put up for public discussion.
This document proposes to strengthen sanitary control at all types of international transport and at border crossing points.
During the coronavirus pandemic, quarantine points were repaired and equipped with the help of donors and the budget. The Deputy Minister added that training events are planned for all ministries working at the entry points into the country to prepare for new infections that require special attention.
Sydygaliev emphasized that today an algorithm of actions has been developed for train chiefs and aircraft crew commanders in case infectious patients are identified. At the "Manas" airport, two isolation rooms are provided for people with elevated temperatures, and boxed wards have been created for patients in the infectious hospital.
Kubanychbek Bekturdiyev, the head of the epidemiology department of the Republican Center, added that the importation of infections into the country can occur through goods, animals, birds, and people.
He noted that the pandemic of influenza and cholera continues, and there is an increase in cases of coronavirus infection and new diseases. In Kyrgyzstan, for example, recent positive results for Rocky Mountain spotted fever have been recorded.
Bekturdiyev emphasized that the comprehensive plan includes several key areas:
- preparation for a possible infection (stockpiling disinfectants, medications, hospital beds),
- conducting anti-epidemic measures (identifying sources of infection, restrictions, quarantine).
