In Bishkek, a nephrologist from the NCODM was detained. The staff issued a statement.
It is believed that the case concerns the amputation of a patient's leg due to thrombosis. The girl was admitted to the nephrology department with glomerulonephritis at the end of 2021, following a coronavirus infection. According to doctors, she had thrombocytopenia, which subsequently led to arterial thrombosis. Despite the consultations and prescribed therapy, no improvement was observed. Ultimately, the surgeon decided to amputate the right leg above the knee. However, the parents took the girl and went to Turkey, where the surgery was performed.
“The detention of the respected doctor, candidate of medical sciences, associate professor Nasira Beishebayeva has caused serious concern among medical professionals and the public. This event has negatively affected the moral and psychological atmosphere within the team and raises concerns among patients and specialists, considering the significant contribution of the doctor to the development of healthcare and specialized assistance,” the statement under the video reads.
In the address, NCMD employees requested support for an objective review of Beishebayeva's case, highlighting her significant contribution to the development of pediatric nephrology in the country. “She is a highly qualified specialist involved in the creation of strategically important documents for the Ministry of Health on pediatric nephrology and transplantology,” her colleagues emphasized.
Medical professionals also pointed out that it would be reasonable to consider a preventive measure for Beishebayeva that is not related to arrest, as she is the mother of two young daughters and cares for her elderly mother, posing no threat to society.Address from NCMD employees. “We hope for objectivity and fairness in the consideration of this situation while adhering to all legal norms. We urge you to take this case under personal control and are confident that justice and humanity are the key values of our state,” noted the NCMD.
