He noted: "75 citizens of Kyrgyzstan have reached out to us, among whom are many elders. The letter has been registered, and the resolution of the speaker (Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu) has sent it to the chairman of the relevant committee for analysis. We do not know what the outcome will be, but after the Constitutional Court's decision, the relevant individuals received a response in accordance with its ruling, as far as I know," Mamytov added.
Recall that on February 9, it became known that 75 people had appealed to President Sadyr Japarov and the speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, requesting the organization of early presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan. In response, President Japarov relieved Kamchybek Tashiev of his duties as Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the State National Security Committee (GKNB), and also reorganized the GKNB. Following his resignation, several high-ranking officials in his circle were also dismissed from their positions.
In light of the scandal, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu also resigned and relinquished his parliamentary powers.
As Japarov reported, Tashiev claimed that he had not communicated with the signatories; however, the president emphasized that he would not hold any government positions in the future.
The Constitutional Court, having reviewed the appeal from Japarov, confirmed that presidential elections must take place on schedule—in January 2027.
As a result, a criminal case was initiated, and several signatories of the "letter of 75" were arrested and placed in pre-trial detention on charges of organizing mass riots in the country.
