The Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov made a statement about the current state of prices in the country. He noted that the issue of rising prices for goods and services remains relevant for Kyrgyzstan, despite positive economic indicators. This was stated during a nationwide meeting held by President Sadyr Japarov.

Baisalov pointed out the ongoing discussions in society about rising prices, despite the confident growth of the economy. “The budget has increased by 3.5 times, and the economic growth rate is 10–11 percent,” he added.

He noted that the president is monitoring the situation and that the economic block of the government conducts weekly monitoring, taking additional measures to stabilize the situation.

In his opinion, the rise in prices is a global process that began during the pandemic and was exacerbated by geopolitical tensions. “The country’s economy remains stable. The som has not lost its value for five years, but the influence of global markets cannot be ignored. No cabinet of ministers can fully protect the economy from external influences,” emphasized the deputy chairman.

As an example, he provided data indicating that at previous growth rates, the average salary in 2025 would be around 23,000 soms, not 44,500. Meanwhile, the average pension would have been about 7,000, whereas it currently stands at 11,238 soms. “Today, no pensioner receives less than 8,000 soms,” he noted.

Baisalov also added that if the state had continued to act as before, the poverty level could have reached 50% of the population. Therefore, the government focuses its efforts on supporting local production, creating jobs, enhancing export potential, and strengthening social assistance.

He is confident that Kyrgyzstan is moving steadily towards sustainable development. “The main thing is to maintain the current pace. We must not lose optimism. The unity of the people and trust between the authorities and citizens is what matters. All other issues can be resolved,” concluded Baisalov.
