A Kyrgyzstani became a prizewinner at a prestigious Greco-Roman wrestling tournament
Recently, the international wrestling tournament MUHAMET MALO–2026 concluded in the capital of Albania, Tirana. In the Greco-Roman style competitions, representative of Kyrgyzstan, Üzur Jusupbekov, won a bronze medal in the weight category up to 96 kg.
Jusupbekov began his journey in the tournament with a confident victory over Turkmen wrestler Amanberdy Agamammetov, finishing the match with a score of 9:0.
However, in the quarterfinals, the Kyrgyzstani faced Arthur Sargsyan from Russia and suffered a defeat — 0:9. But Sargsyan's advancement to the finals allowed Jusupbekov to continue fighting for a medal through the consolation matches.
In the match determining the entry to the small final, he achieved a convincing victory over Azerbaijani wrestler Mahammad Ahmadiev — 8:2. In the decisive match for third place, Jusupbekov managed to defeat Iranian wrestler Amirreza Moradiyan with a score of 4:2, thus winning the bronze medal at this prestigious tournament.
