At a meeting of the Education Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Saltanat Amanova noted that despite 11 years of studying English and Russian, many graduates are unable to speak these languages fluently. This fact was discussed in the context of proposed changes to the education system.

Amanova emphasized that the quality of foreign language teaching in the regions leaves much to be desired, and many students are forced to seek additional training at private language centers.

She addressed Deputy Minister of Education Nadirа Jusuпbekova with the question: "Why, despite all the funds invested in English language education, are children unable to speak it? The same situation exists with the Russian language. Why are lessons conducted, yet students cannot communicate confidently?"

The Deputy Minister agreed with Amanova's opinion, adding that similar problems are observed in the study of the Kyrgyz language.

According to her, the low effectiveness of teaching is related to an excessive focus on grammar in educational materials, without the application of functional grammar and communicative methods. "This is why such difficulties arise," she explained.

In response to these challenges, the ministry is updating English language textbooks for grades 1 to 12. The new methodology aims for students to be able to speak, understand spoken language, and comprehend what they read meaningfully, ensuring their comprehensive development.

As for the Kyrgyz language, a competition has been announced for the creation of educational complexes based on modern communicative approaches. A request has also been sent to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for the preparation of future teachers using new teaching methodologies," the Deputy Minister added.
