The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic has published recommendations for citizens who find themselves in a situation of eviction from hotels in the United Arab Emirates.
In connection with the situation in the Middle East, the UAE authorities have directed hotels to extend the stay of guests whose rental period has expired without charging additional fees. If you are facing eviction or a threat of eviction, follow the steps below.
- Stay calm and politely explain that you have the right to continue your stay. Inform hotel staff about the directive requiring them to extend your stay for the duration of the restrictions.
- Do not leave your room voluntarily. Do not take your belongings out or sign eviction documents unless alternative accommodation has been offered and the reasons explained.
- Request to speak with the responsible manager. Ask the duty manager or hotel manager to document your request for an extension of stay in official records.
- If you are being pressured, do not hesitate to request the police be called. The emergency services number is 999. If the hotel insists on eviction, call the police yourself or ask hotel staff to do so for official documentation of the situation.
- Do not pay for your stay out of pocket. Generally, if you pay on your own, the money is not refunded.
- Document everything that happens. Take photos and videos: the hotel name, reception desk, notifications, correspondence, and bills. Write down the name of the staff member demanding eviction and keep all receipts and documents.
- Contact the embassy or consulate of Kyrgyzstan urgently. Provide the hotel name, address, room number, your full name, contact number, number of companions (including children or elderly), and the hotel’s demands (eviction, payment, or relocation).
- If you have already been evicted, stay in the lobby or on the hotel grounds until the police arrive or the issue is resolved with management. At this point, immediately contact foreign institutions and inform them of your situation.

Brief message in English to resolve the issue:
I am a stranded guest due to the current situation and flight disruptions. UAE authorities instructed hotels to extend guests' stay free of charge. Please escalate this to the duty manager. If you insist on eviction, please call the police so the matter can be officially recorded. (I am a guest stranded due to the current situation and flight disruptions.
