In anticipation of March 8, the Customer Service Department of an international marketplace published the results of its research. 63% of respondents plan to give gifts, and 49% of them intend to spend up to 6,000 soms.
According to data on e-commerce, 72% of respondents noted that the holiday is widely celebrated in their circles, while 71% plan to celebrate it in 2026. Only 10% stated that March 8 is not celebrated in their environment.
“In Kyrgyzstan, March 8 is an important and warm holiday. We observe that buyers are preparing gifts for their loved ones in advance, and they are increasingly choosing online stores as a convenient way to do this,” said Alexander Vorobyov, the company's director in Kyrgyzstan.
The main associations with this holiday among the citizens of Kyrgyzstan are related to femininity, care, and respect for women (46%), flowers and gifts for loved ones (44%), spring and renewal (37%), as well as joy and positive emotions (29%).
Among men, 63% plan to give gifts, most often to their mothers (84%), spouses and partners (59%), as well as sisters (43%). Among women, 69% plan to delight their mothers with gifts (83%), sisters (50%), and daughters (44%). In terms of budget, 49% of buyers are ready to spend from 2,000 to 6,000 soms, 21% expect to stay within 2,000 soms, and 30% intend to spend more than 6,000 soms.
