Accusations of unfair selection of students for the Stipendium Hungaricum program in Hungary have emerged on social media.

One user reported that this year the Ministry of Education and Science conducted a competition stage at the national level.

According to him, many students with high academic achievements received rejections in a single list, without explanations, publication of grades, or clear evaluation criteria. Furthermore, ministry staff do not respond to candidates' inquiries.

Every year, the rules and format for announcing results change, but transparency does not increase. This raises many questions regarding the national selection procedure. "We are not asking for privileges, just for transparency. Publish the criteria. Show the scores. Provide official clarifications. Students have the right to a fair and understandable selection," noted the user akito_nomad.

In response to these concerns, the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovation informed Kaktus.media that verification of all data for forming ranking indicators is currently underway. Official results will only be presented after the verification is completed and approved in the established manner on the ministry's website.

As of now, the official results of the competitive selection have not been approved or published. The results will be submitted to the Hungarian side only after final approval.

"The Kyrgyz side provides a preliminary list of candidates; however, the final decision on awarding grants and enrollment is made by the Hungarian side. We ask participants in the competitive selection to be understanding regarding the verification process and to wait for the official results," added ministry representatives.
