According to the information, from March 5 to 10, worsening weather conditions are forecasted in the mountainous areas of the country, which may lead to an increased risk of avalanches and the formation of ice on the roads.
“The highest risk of avalanches is in the area of the Kara-Unkur gorge at the specified kilometers of the highway. An avalanche has already occurred there today. The road services responded promptly and restored traffic in all lanes,” the message notes.
Drivers are urged, if possible, to avoid long trips. It is essential to strictly adhere to traffic rules and speed limits on the road. It is also recommended to have snow chains on hand and maintain a distance of at least 500 meters between vehicles.
