Representatives of the bailiff service under the General Prosecutor's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic commented on the information that spread on social media and in the mass media regarding the fact that citizen M. K. K. was not allowed to leave the country due to a fine of 1,000 soms.

On January 26, 2026, M. K. K. planned to fly to Turkey with his family; however, border service officers did not permit him to leave the country.

The agency noted: "Indeed, a fine of 1,000 soms was imposed on this citizen, which he subsequently paid, and the restriction was lifted. However, a temporary restriction on the departure of his wife O. Zh. was established by the Sverdlovsk District Court due to a tax debt of 1,320,398 soms. Thus, the reason for the travel ban lies not in the fine, but in the existing court restriction related to the significant tax debt of the spouse."

The bailiff service recommends that citizens check for debts on the website suddep.sot.kg before planning trips abroad. The agency also reminds that travel bans can be imposed not only due to fines but also for other reasons. Bailiffs may not always be able to lift such restrictions.
