After recording the address, Ismailov decided to leave Kyrgyzstan and move to the USA. He expressed hope to return to the country when justice prevails, stating: "It is useless to appeal now. One investigator can decide the fate of a person and their business. I have no choice but to leave."
In his address, Ismailov also called on President Sadyr Japarov to pay attention to the situation. He spoke about his 30 years of experience in business, over 20 of which he spent in the construction sector.
According to the entrepreneur, criminal cases are often opened against those who try to succeed, accusing them of corruption, which leads to pressure on their businesses. He noted that "any businessman can face 30-40 investigators acting on orders from above, and effectively the business is taken away."
Ismailov talked about several major projects that his company had implemented, including the construction of boarding houses and tourist facilities on Issyk-Kul, as well as projects in Bishkek. However, many of these initiatives were halted due to pressure and investigative actions.
During his address, he also mentioned that some employees of his company had been subjected to interrogations and detentions, and a number of specialists had to resign.
“We invested in loans, built facilities, and developed projects. But due to constant inspections, everything has come to a halt,” Ismailov added.
The entrepreneur expressed his willingness to meet with the head of state to discuss the situation in the business environment in more detail. At the time of writing this article, there had been no official comments from government authorities.
