The closed screening of the new film 'Illegal. Through Mexico' will take place on March 17, and the film will be released widely two days later, on March 19. This was announced at a press conference where director Ruslan Akun spoke.
The plot of the film revolves around Chingiz — a man who embarks on a risky journey to fulfill his dream of living in the United States. His route passes through several countries and includes one of the most dangerous paths of illegal migration — through Mexico.
Along the way, the main character faces numerous difficulties: he has to hide from immigration services, confront criminal gangs, and overcome challenging natural conditions.
The film combines elements of drama, action, and adventure. We wanted to show the price people pay for illegal migration and the risks they take in search of a better life.

The filming took place in the jungles and other hard-to-reach places in South America, adding an atmosphere of tension and realism to the film. Ruslan Akun noted that the crew experienced the same difficulties faced by illegal migrants.
'Illegal. Through Mexico' addresses important social issues such as the dream of a better life, sacrifices for family, and human resilience in the face of adversity.
The film features actors such as Emil Esenaliev, Zhakhan Utargaliyev, Aisanat Edigeeva, Rauan Akhmedov, and Abilaykhan Ainabekov.
A distinctive feature of the project is international collaboration: actors from different countries participated in the making of the film, which expanded its geography and made it more large-scale.
Upcoming plans include the premiere of the film in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Russia. Ruslan Akun is also working on showing the film in Georgia, Armenia, and South America.
The film's budget exceeded $700,000, indicating the scale of the project.
Ruslan Akun previously gained recognition for his films 'Salam, New York' and 'Paradise Under the Feet of Mothers', which were popular both in Kyrgyzstan and beyond.
