
The Italian authorities and businesses see significant opportunities for investment and technological interaction in Central Asia.
At the international business forum dedicated to agro-innovations, titled "Innovations, Regenerative Agriculture, and Digitalization for Sustainable Agroecosystems" (Italy – Central Asia + Azerbaijan Business Forum), taking place in Tashkent, the Italian delegation confirmed its plans to expand economic and technological cooperation with Central Asia.
The Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forestry of Italy, Francesco Lollobrigida, speaking at the forum, emphasized that the event aims to strengthen ties between countries and develop partnerships. According to him, the participation of around 400 entrepreneurs in the forum confirms the growing interest of businesses in this region.
Italy views Central Asia as a key area for investment and deepening trade relations, as evidenced by the increase in imports, which rose by more than 72% following previous meetings.
The main aspects of cooperation identified include sustainable agricultural development, processing of agricultural products, the introduction of cutting-edge technologies, digitalization, and enhancing export potential.
The forum also highlighted the importance of scientific research and innovations, including the development of modern agrotechnologies, irrigation, and land reclamation. An important aspect is the exchange of knowledge and the implementation of best global practices.
The significance of the "Made in Italy" brand was discussed separately, as well as the Italian side's readiness to share experience in production and quality assurance.
The Italian side expressed its willingness to support investments and create favorable conditions for business interaction, including the participation of relevant organizations, trade chambers, and exhibition platforms.
According to the forum participants, the development of cooperation will contribute not only to economic growth but also to strengthening ties between countries in various fields.
In conclusion, it was noted that the implementation of modern technologies and the expansion of cooperation would significantly enhance agricultural productivity and the quality of produced goods.
