A 27-year-old footballer Nassur Bachem died during a match in Portugal


The tragic incident occurred in the 27th minute of the third round of the Algarve Cup, where the teams LGC Moncarapachense and Imortal DC faced off in Olhão. Suddenly, the player lost consciousness and collapsed on the field. Medical staff from both teams immediately began to provide assistance, and soon emergency services arrived at the stadium. Despite all efforts, resuscitation was unsuccessful, and the doctors were unable to save the footballer — he was pronounced dead at the scene. The preliminary cause of death has been identified as cardiac arrest.

The LGC Moncarapachense club, representing the fourth division of Portugal, officially confirmed the sad news and expressed condolences to the family, friends, and all who knew Nassur Bachem.

Bachem was a graduate of the youth academy of "Braga," had Angolan roots, and was born in Aveiro. The club's president, Nemésio Martins, described the incident as "a shocking and unexpected event," adding that "there was no time to think."

The football community in Portugal is deeply saddened by the tragic death of the player, whose life was cut short on the football field.
