Georgy Cherdanцев, a well-known sports commentator, shared his opinion on the possibility of replacing commentators with artificial intelligence. He believes that such fears are unfounded, as AI cannot reproduce the unique qualities that a live person possesses during a broadcast.
In an interview with the publication "Championat," Cherdanцев emphasized that artificial intelligence operates based on logic and rationality, while people sometimes make decisions that may seem irrational but ultimately turn out to be successful or even genius. This trait, in his opinion, plays a key role in the profession of a commentator.
The commentator also noted that AI lacks natural emotions and is incapable of improvisation, which is essential for creating quality live broadcasts. According to Cherdanцев, the ability to emotionally react to events on the field and to instantly adapt to changing situations remains an exclusively human advantage.
"Thus, commentators and hosts of live broadcasts should not worry about being replaced by AI," he concluded.
Georgy Cherdanцев works for the "Match TV" channel and is one of the most famous sports commentators in Russia. In 2023, he received the national television award TEFI in the category "Host of a Sports Program / Sports Commentator."
