The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has urged athletes from Ukraine to refrain from conducting protests against Russian participants at the Olympic Games, which will take place in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo. This was reported by Ukrainian skeleton athlete Vladislav Geraskevich.

“We received a message from the IOC regarding the Olympic Games asking us not to hold any protests. They have been in contact with the Ukrainian side regarding possible protests,” he shared.

The IOC reminded that the Olympic Charter prohibits any demonstrations during the Games.

It is worth noting that in January, representatives of the junior Ukrainian skeleton team held a protest during a European Cup stage in Innsbruck, Austria, due to the participation of Russians and Belarusians in the Olympic Games.

The 25th Winter Olympic Games in 2026 will be held in Italy from February 6 to 22, and the Winter Paralympic Games will take place from March 6 to 15. A total of 2,871 athletes from 93 countries will participate in these competitions, with 116 sets of medals to be contested in 16 disciplines.
