The Winter Olympic Games opened in Italy

The official opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games took place at the "San Siro" stadium in Milan. This significant event was attended by Kazibek Moldazhiyev, the director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports under the Government of Kyrgyzstan.

The parade of national teams also took place in cities such as Cortina d'Ampezzo, Livigno, and Predazzo. The theme of the ceremony was the concept of "Armonia" ("Harmony"), and the final chord of the parade was the French team – the country that will host the Olympics in 2030.

Italian President Sergio Mattarella and the head of the International Olympic Committee, Kirsty Coventry, declared the Games open. The Olympic flame was lit both at the Arch of Peace in Milan and at the Dibon Square in Cortina d'Ampezzo.

The Olympic competitions started on February 6 and will last until February 22. Kyrgyzstan will be represented by 19-year-old athletes Timur Shakirov and Artur Saparbekov. Saparbekov will compete in cross-country skiing on February 10 and 13, while Shakirov will participate in alpine skiing events on February 14 and 16.
