Saltanat Amanova, a member of parliament, proposed to increase the volume of state support for the Federation of Salbuurun, emphasizing the expenses related to the care of hunting birds and animals. This statement was made at a meeting of the parliamentary committee dealing with science, education, culture, sports, and youth policy.

She highlighted the importance of the Federation as a custodian of nomadic culture, whose services are actively used in organizing visits of foreign delegations. According to Amanova, caring for golden eagles, taigans, and racehorses requires significant financial investments, which are currently hardly supported by the state.

The deputy also noted that attention must be paid to the condition of the animals, their nutrition, and veterinary care. In the Ton district, there are only 4-5 specialists left in this field, and if they do not receive support, unique traditions may be lost.

In response to her initiative, a representative of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports reported that the budget for 2026 allocates 11 million soms for the Federation of Salbuurun.

However, Amanova pointed out that this funding is intended solely for organizing competitions and does not cover the expenses for the daily care of the animals. She called for a review of financial policy to support the masters and preserve the vanishing art of national hunting.

Salbuurun is a traditional hunting method among the Kyrgyz, involving the use of golden eagles, bows, and taigans—a national breed of hunting dogs. This practice is considered part of the intangible cultural heritage of nomadic civilization.
