According to him, all government documents continue to be issued in both languages — Kyrgyz and Russian.
“Every day I sign numerous documents in both versions — in Russian and Kyrgyz. The Russian language is officially recognized,” he noted.
Baisalov also added that any attempts to interrupt the speeches of deputies or government members in Russian violate legislation and parliamentary ethics.
“I am against anyone interrupting another's speech — whether it is a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers or Parliament. This is absolutely illegal and unconstitutional. The speaker is not speaking in Chinese, Turkish, or Spanish, but in an official language,” stated Edil Baisalov. He clarified that every state and political figure has the full right to speak in the official language, and the demand to speak exclusively in the state language is unlawful.
“This is not a family table, but an official platform. Any attempt to force a person to speak only in the state language is illegal,” he added.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that his goal is to protect not only the Russian language but specifically the official status that is enshrined in the Constitution.
