On December 4, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, met with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif, in Islamabad as part of his state visit. This was reported on the official website of the head of Kyrgyzstan.
During the negotiations, issues of strengthening cooperation in areas such as politics, economy, trade, transport, and energy were discussed. Special attention was given to joint cultural and infrastructure projects.

“The Prime Minister of Pakistan warmly welcomed Sadyr Japarov and noted that this visit opens a new era in bilateral relations. He highly appreciated the economic successes of Kyrgyzstan and expressed confidence that joint efforts could strengthen the partnership. Shahbaz Sharif also emphasized that the successful implementation of projects could increase trade volume between the two countries to 200 million dollars,” the official statement claims.

Sadyr Japarov, in turn, noted that Pakistan is a brotherly country with close historical and cultural ties. He expressed his intention to activate political dialogue and deepen cooperation.

The parties also discussed the development of transport routes, including the railway project “China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan,” as well as the use of Pakistani seaports Karachi and Gwadar to simplify Kyrgyzstan's access to international markets.
