Today, December 4, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, made a statement for the press following his negotiations with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif, in Islamabad.

In his address, he thanked the Pakistani side for the warm welcome and noted that his visit was the first in two decades for a Kyrgyz president and the first since his election in January 2021.

As part of Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the president invited Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to be an honorary guest at the SCO summit, which will take place in the fall of 2026 in Bishkek, as well as at the 6th World Nomad Games and events dedicated to Kyrgyzstan's Independence Day.

The president emphasized that the positions of Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan coincide on key issues of the international and regional agenda. Both countries, being mountainous states, actively cooperate in the conservation of the snow leopard and promote mountain initiatives within the framework of the UN climate conference with a number of partners.

In conclusion of his speech, Sadyr Japarov invited Shahbaz Sharif to visit Kyrgyzstan on an official visit at a time convenient for him, expressing confidence that the agreements reached will strengthen friendship and advance bilateral relations to a new level.
