In connection with the misleading information circulating on social media regarding the restoration work on the historical monument "Tash-Rabat," the Ministry of Culture, Information and Youth Policy has made an official statement.
According to the ministry's data, this site is at risk of destruction due to the influence of natural and human factors. In 2025, a tender was held for the restoration, which was won by the JSC "Yug-Stroyservice." This work is being carried out as part of the state program "Secrets of Ancient History."
The ministry emphasized that the restoration is being conducted strictly in accordance with the KR Law "On the Protection and Use of Historical and Cultural Heritage" and relevant international standards. A special project was developed by the research institute "Kyrgyzrestoration," involving both local and foreign specialists. Scientific consultations and field studies were also conducted.
Temporary measures, such as fencing the area and installing a canopy, are necessary to ensure safety during the restoration. The fence prevents access by animals, while the canopy protects against precipitation and creates comfortable working conditions for specialists. After the restoration is completed, these structures will be dismantled.
The ministry assured that each stage of the restoration is based on scientific principles, expert conclusions, laboratory studies, and historical data. The main goal is to preserve the original appearance of "Tash-Rabat," not to change it.
The agency called on the public to be responsible in spreading information. "The ministry is open to discussing scientifically grounded proposals from the public and professionals," the press release stated.
It should be noted that the last significant restoration of the complex was carried out in the 1970s and 1980s. The current work aims to preserve the historical value of the monument for future generations.
