Vertunov Leonid Nikiforovich (1922)

Russian. Born in the village of Verkhnyaya, Kirov region. Graduated from the Geological Faculty of SAGA (1949), and completed postgraduate studies there (1954). Worked as an assistant at SAGA, associate professor, head of the department at KGU, head of the department, and vice-rector for research at FPI; since 1993 - professor, head of the laboratory at KG-MI.
Specialist in the field of oil lithology. Awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, medals of the USSR, and a Certificate of Honor from the Supreme Council of the Kirghiz SSR. Published over 130 scientific works. Under his supervision, 2 candidate dissertations have been defended.
