Bakirov Apas Bakirovich (1935), Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences (1975), Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic (1997).Kyrgyz. Born in the village of Tugel-Sai, Jumgal District, Naryn Region. Graduated from the FPI (1957). Worked as a geologist in a geological survey party, junior researcher, senior researcher, head of the laboratory, and since 1988 - director of the Institute of Geology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Specialist in the field of general and regional geology and regional metamorphism of rocks. Awarded a Certificate of Honor and an Honorary Certificate from the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Discoverer of the deposit. Honored Worker of Science of the Kyrgyz Republic (1993). Published more than 170 scientific works, including 8 monographs and a series of specialized geological maps. Under his supervision, 3 candidate dissertations have been defended.
