Chediya Oleg Konstantinovich (1923),
Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences (1966), Professor (1969)
Russian. Born in Saratov.
Graduated from the Geological Faculty of Leningrad State University (1948), and completed postgraduate studies there (1951).
Worked as an associate professor at Tajik State University, head of the laboratory at the Institute of Geology, head of the laboratory, and since 1992 - chief researcher at the Institute of Science of the Kyrgyz SSR.
Specialist in the field of geology, Cenozoic stratigraphy, geomorphology.
Awarded the Order of the Great Patriotic War, medals of the USSR, and a Certificate of Honor from the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Honored Worker of Science of the Kyrgyz Republic (1993). More than 180 scientific works published, including 12 monographs.
Under his supervision, 15 candidate dissertations have been defended.
