Sharshen Chotonov, the chief specialist of the Veterinary Service for Livestock Development, Pastures, and Feed under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing Industry, noted that in various regions of the country, such as Naryn, Osh, and Chatkal, pasture feeds have high nutritional value.

He emphasized that 1 kilogram of succulent feed is equivalent to 1 kilogram of concentrated feed, which allows animals to graze effectively on pastures without the need for additional feeding.

Chotonov also reported that the cost of using pastures is extremely low. In areas where livestock is raised, only 15-20 soms are charged per sheep and 50-60 soms per horse for the season. These funds do not go directly to the maintenance of pastures but are used to support infrastructure and monitor the rational use of land resources.

He added that almost all livestock in the country is currently on pastures, allowing farmers to provide their own meat.

"Villagers do not buy meat in cities, as they have their own animals. Thus, high meat prices in cities do not affect rural residents," Chotonov noted.

According to him, it is important to monitor the market and the work of suppliers to prevent unjustified price increases for meat and other livestock products.
