In Karakol, activities for the prevention of echinococcosis and the vaccination of domestic animals against rabies have been completed, reported a correspondent from Turmush.

Tilek Ishenbaev, head of the city's veterinary management, livestock development, pastures, and feed, noted that as part of this campaign, 1,500 dogs and cats were treated and vaccinated.

“In the fall, preventive measures aimed at combating parasitic diseases in domestic animals were implemented in Karakol. Fifth-year students from the Veterinary Faculty of the Kyrgyz Agricultural University arrived in the city for their internship and assisted in carrying out veterinary preventive work. During their internship, they performed deworming of animals to combat echinococcosis and conducted vaccinations against rabies. These actions are aimed at preserving the health of domestic animals and preventing zoonotic diseases among the population,” said T. Ishenbaev.

In addition, work continues in Karakol on the identification of cattle.

Also, 6,078 heads of cattle were vaccinated against foot-and-mouth disease.
