A 50-acre plot of land belonging to the veterinary service management in the city of Osh has ended up in private hands. This was reported by the head of the regional department of the State Inspection for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Safety for the city of Osh and the Osh region, Sanjar Ergeshov, at a meeting dedicated to the results of the city's work over the past 9 months.

During the meeting, the chairman of the Osh city council, Bolot Bayetov, raised the issue of the state of veterinary laboratories and the need to create municipal clinics for pets. “City residents keep dogs and cats that need to be vaccinated regularly. There should be a veterinary clinic and pharmacy in each district management. Due to the lack of vaccinations, the number of diseases such as echinococcosis is increasing. Therefore, the city urgently needs a municipal veterinary clinic,” Bayetov said.

In response, Sanjar Ergeshov stated that the construction of a new clinic is only possible if the land plot, which previously belonged to the management but was later illegally transferred to private hands, is returned. “We have repeatedly officially appealed to the Osh city mayor's office and the State Committee for National Security with a request to return the 50-acre plot, but we have not received a response yet. If the land is returned, we have all the opportunities to build a veterinary laboratory and a modern clinic there,” Ergeshov reported.
He also noted that to date, there is only one state veterinary clinic operating in the Osh region — at Osh State University.

At the end of the meeting, the chairman of the city council emphasized the need to return illegally expropriated land plots that were previously intended for social facilities and instructed the responsible structures to jointly resolve this issue.
