The Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, along with deputies from the "Ata-Jurt" group, conducted a working trip to Kara-Balta.

According to the information from the parliament's press service, the delegation inspected the dilapidated building of school No. 5, which was privatized in 2011 and returned to the state in 2018.

The old building, constructed in the 1950s, is currently in a neglected state. In this regard, local authorities proposed to build a kindergarten on its site, as well as to construct an additional school next to the nearby school No. 7 to address the issue of a shortage of educational places.

According to data from the housing and communal services, there is a serious shortage of kindergartens in Kara-Balta: about 1200 children are on the waiting list. In some schools, classes are held in three shifts.

Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu instructed the Ministry of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services to develop projects for the new kindergarten and school buildings.

Next, the delegation visited school No. 7, where, according to the director, more than 1500 students are currently enrolled, and classes are conducted in three shifts. Educators expressed confidence that the construction of an additional building would help solve the problem of overcrowding and improve the quality of education.

Turgunbek uulu familiarized himself with the project for the new building and urged the relevant ministry to expedite the financing issue.

He also noted that to eliminate delays in construction and improve the quality of work, the issue of conducting tenders would be canceled.

“The relevant agency must change its approach, aiming for faster construction of social infrastructure facilities. It is necessary to abandon outdated methods and act in accordance with modern requirements, considering the price-quality ratio at the construction stage,” emphasized the speaker of the parliament.

Turgunbek uulu called on local authorities to work more actively. “In recent years, we have been paying special attention to the development of cities in the regions, and 1 billion soms have been allocated for Kara-Balta. Therefore, it is important to effectively utilize this state support to address social and infrastructure issues,” he added.
