The Speaker of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan advocated for the abolition of tenders in construction

The Speaker stated the need to revise the legislation regarding tenders. He added that such procedures delay the start of construction work, which in turn negatively affects the timelines for project implementation. “We must consider the possibility of eliminating tenders to expedite and improve the quality of work,” emphasized Turgunbek uulu.

Furthermore, Turgunbek uulu mentioned that he discussed this issue with the country's president. He urged the Cabinet of Ministers to present a draft law to the Jogorku Kenesh as soon as possible that would abolish tender procedures.

“We raised this issue two years ago, and at that time only the name of the process changed, while the essence remained the same. Now it is necessary to address this problem promptly. Construction should be carried out without tenders, allowing for direct purchases. In case of mistakes, the heads of institutions will be held responsible,” he added.
