The Mayor of Bishkek checked the progress of repair work on the streets of the city

Aybek Junushaliev, the mayor of the capital Bishkek, conducted an inspection of the city streets along with representatives of utility services to assess the current repair and construction work.

On the section of Kurmanjan Datka Street, from Jibek Jolu Avenue to Chuy Avenue, work is ongoing to construct sidewalks on both sides. However, due to the need to relocate engineering communications carried out by OJSC "Bishkek City Telephone Network," OJSC "Severelektro," and "Bishkek PES," the deadlines for completion are being extended.

The mayor demanded that the work be completed within five days, warning that if there are delays, the municipality will carry out the necessary work itself, and the costs will be imposed on the aforementioned enterprises.
Additionally, Junushaliev emphasized the importance of properly equipping the bicycle lane and instructed to consider the possibility of installing U-shaped traffic lights in this area.

During the inspection, the mayor also pointed out the need to strengthen control over illegal parking. Local inspection staff have already started drafting reports on violators.

On Mederov Street, the mayor expressed dissatisfaction with the slow pace of work by BGTS. He strongly urged to accelerate the process, if necessary, to involve additional contracting organizations, and to consider imposing sanctions for failure to meet deadlines.

“We cannot afford to wait 4-5 years. Use modern technologies, work faster, but do not forget about quality and safety,” the mayor noted.

During the inspection of Vostochnaya Street, a resident approached the mayor with a request to organize public transport movement and install a stop. The citizen also complained about a municipal employee who does not respond to the phone number provided in the official response.

Junushaliev attempted to contact the given number, but there was no response.

As a result of the inspection, the mayor issued a reprimand to the responsible employee and instructed to verify the accuracy of contact information in the future. He also demanded disciplinary measures, up to dismissal, in case of recurrence of such situations.

Then the mayor inspected the construction of an underground passage on Ch. Aitmatov Avenue and called for the acceleration of work to ensure the prompt opening of traffic in this area.

Moreover, he revisited the residential building where there had previously been a flooding issue in an apartment to check on the progress of the remediation work.

In conclusion of the tour, the mayor inspected Fuchik Street, where sidewalk reconstruction is underway, and instructed to enhance control over the quality of the work being performed.
