He noted that all restaurants and service providers are required to organize and clarify their parking zones. Currently, work is underway to improve the situation on three main streets of the city.
“We recently held meetings with business owners operating on T. Bayzakov Avenue and Pushkin and B. Osmonov Streets. The problem was identified, and entrepreneurs were given time to resolve it. The greatest violations are observed on these streets,” Ismailov added.
Despite the expansion of sidewalks and roads, many commercial entities are using adjacent territories for parking, which is unacceptable. “We are not widening the streets for someone to profit, but to reduce traffic jams,” he emphasized.
For example, on Bayzakov Avenue, there is the building of JAGU (Jalal-Abad State University). We have also reached out to its administration to request that teachers leave their cars on the university's premises. Inspections will be conducted after the established deadline. If the requirements are not met, the closure of such establishments will be proposed, Ismailov reported.
About 30 property owners located on the specified streets attended the meeting. During the discussion, it became known that one restaurant has already created a parking area next to its establishment, while another has purchased a neighboring plot for parking organization.
After the work on these streets is completed, improvements will continue on A. Abdrakhmanov Street, and the road to the city airport will also be cleared and organized.
It is worth noting that in the city of Osh, as of November 1, a decision has come into effect to temporarily close cafes, restaurants, and shopping centers that do not have their own parking spaces.
According to the local administration, this measure is aimed at ensuring the safety of citizens and guests of the establishments, as well as reducing traffic congestion. The mayor's office emphasized that each food establishment must have its own parking lot, and businesses have been instructed to organize parking spaces as soon as possible.
