In this academic year, the spring break is scheduled from March 6 to March 8, which amounts to three calendar days, including weekends.
According to regulations, students in general education institutions are entitled to 30 calendar days of vacation during the academic year.
In previous years, schools organized three vacation periods: autumn—approximately 9 days, winter—about 12 days, and spring—9 days, not including non-working public holidays established by law.
As of January 1, 2026, a new Labor Code from June 4, 2025, No. 111, came into effect, which includes Article 66, establishing two extended non-working holiday periods in January (from January 1 to January 6) and May (from May 1 to May 8).
Moreover, the Labor Code specifies that January 7, May 5, and May 9 are also non-working public holidays. In cases where January 10-11 or May 10-11 coincide with weekends, the total duration of winter vacations and public holidays in May may amount to 12 calendar days each.
These regulations also apply to school education, which means that schoolchildren, in addition to the three standard vacations (autumn, winter, and spring), should also have the opportunity to rest during the May holidays from May 1 to May 10.
As a result, out of the 30 vacation days provided for the academic year, 24 days fall on winter vacations and May holidays.
The remaining 6 calendar days are distributed between autumn (in November) and spring (in March) vacations, which requires careful planning of the academic schedule and adherence to the duration of vacations.
In accordance with the uniform distribution of academic weeks, the autumn break in the 2025-2026 academic year is scheduled from November 5 to November 9, 2025 (5 calendar days including weekends), and the spring break is scheduled from March 6 to March 8 (3 calendar days including weekends).
