According to the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources, the meeting discussed key areas of environmental cooperation, current challenges, as well as the exchange of best practices in environmental protection.
As a result of the meeting, a joint statement was signed, recording the agreements reached. An initiative aimed at improving air quality was also adopted.
Participants also recommended continuing the development of an initiative for the conservation of Eurasian biodiversity and the corresponding action plan for the period 2026–2031. Work in these areas will continue.
The meeting also provided information about upcoming environmental events for SCO member states in 2026–2027.
The Ministry of Natural Resources noted that the meeting confirmed the SCO countries' commitment to strengthening cooperation, developing constructive dialogue, and uniting efforts to ensure environmental safety and sustainable development in the region.
