The Deputy Head of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ambassador of France discussed Kyrgyzstan's participation in COP21 in Yerevan

On February 6, the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, Almaz Musaev, held a meeting with Nicolas Fay, the Ambassador of France to Kyrgyzstan. The press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources reported on this event.

During the meeting, the French side confirmed its readiness to provide assistance to Kyrgyzstan in the framework of participation in COP21, which will take place in 2026 in Yerevan, Armenia. In particular, the discussion focused on organizing side events dedicated to biodiversity issues.

Additionally, the parties discussed opportunities for further cooperation in the field of biodiversity conservation, protection of rare species, and management of specially protected natural areas.

Musaev emphasized the importance of ongoing activities for biodiversity conservation, including the development of the National Strategy and Action Plan for Biodiversity Conservation (NBSAP), and noted the vulnerability of Kyrgyzstan's glaciers and mountain ecosystems to climate change.
