At the Ministry of Natural Resources, the development of adaptive landscapes and pastures was discussed

The Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Almaz Musaev, held a meeting with a delegation from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), led by Country Director Laura Mattioli. This was reported on February 3, based on information provided by the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources.

During the meeting, Mattioli thanked the Kyrgyz side for their active cooperation and positively assessed the reforms being carried out in the field of ecology in the republic.

An important topic of discussion was the joint creation of a conceptual note for the Adaptation Fund within the framework of the project "ALATOO – Adaptive Landscapes and Agro-Pastoral Transformations for New Opportunities and Sustainable Outcomes." This project aims to work with the ecosystems of pastures and forests, applying an integrated approach to natural resource management. Special attention will be given to sustainable development and the protection of national parks.

Deputy Minister Almaz Musaev also informed IFAD representatives about the current initiatives of the ministry related to biodiversity conservation, as well as the strategies and programs being developed in the field of environmental protection.

Additionally, the participants of the meeting discussed the implementation of the project, which costs approximately 10 million US dollars, focusing on the development of adaptive landscapes and transformations in agro-pastoral areas, creating new opportunities and achieving sustainable results.
