During the forum dedicated to the launch of the national pilot project and climate financing in the Chatkal district, Dinara Kemelova, the special representative of the president for the implementation of the Decade of Action for the Development of Mountain Regions, stated the need for special attention to this remote and mountainous area, especially in the context of its development.
She noted that a number of measures are planned within the framework of the five-year state program for the development of mountainous territories.
“The first is to improve the living conditions for local residents. The second is to preserve the mountain ecosystems. The third is to enhance the resilience of these areas to climate change and combat natural disasters caused by climate factors. We have seen significant opportunities for the development of the Chatkal district in the fields of energy, tourism, agriculture, and mining, but there remain many unresolved issues and problems that require a comprehensive approach,” she added.
Kemelova also emphasized that to address these issues, it is necessary to establish cooperation with local agricultural committees and district administrations to include projects in strategic development plans.
