
The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has approved the Concept of Sustainable Development of the Ecological and Economic System 'Issyk-Kul', designed until 2030, as well as an action plan for its implementation. The corresponding resolution was signed by Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev.
Within the framework of this document, the concept was approved, along with a matrix of indicators for its implementation, which is an important step towards the sustainable development of the region.
Various state structures, including ministries, local administrations, and the mayors of the cities of Karakol, Cholpon-Ata, and Balykchy, have been appointed responsible for the implementation of the activities outlined in the concept and action plan.
The main goal of this concept is to protect Lake Issyk-Kul and the surrounding biosphere zone from negative impacts caused by human activities and natural factors. It is also planned to ensure sustainable economic growth and improve living conditions for the population of the region.
