The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the strategy for the sustainable development of the ecological-economic system of "Issyk-Kul" until 2030, as well as an action plan for its implementation. The corresponding decree was signed by the Chairman of the Cabinet, Adylbek Kasymaliev.
According to the new document, the concept of sustainable development of the ecological-economic system of "Issyk-Kul," the action plan for its implementation, and a matrix of indicators to assist in monitoring the implementation of this concept have been approved.
Various ministries, administrative agencies, the National Academy of Sciences, the presidential representative in the Issyk-Kul region, as well as local government administrations and the mayors of the cities of Karakol, Cholpon-Ata, and Balykchy have been appointed responsible for the implementation of the provisions of the concept and the plan.
The main task of the concept is to protect Lake Issyk-Kul and the surrounding biosphere zone from negative impacts caused by anthropogenic load, as well as technological and natural factors. The concept also aims to ensure sustainable economic growth in the region and improve the quality of life for local residents.
