The Government of Kyrgyzstan has confirmed the status of the snow leopard as the national symbol of the country. As part of this resolution, signed by Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev, an official logo for this animal will also be established along with the rules for its use.
This decision was made in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 369 dated December 29, 2023, aimed at preserving and promoting symbols that reflect the cultural and natural heritage of Kyrgyzstan.
The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision has been tasked with developing an action plan aimed at protecting the snow leopard population and its natural habitat, as reported by the government.
