The Government of Kyrgyzstan has confirmed the status of the snow leopard as the national symbol of the country. As part of this resolution, signed by Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev, an official logo for this animal will also be established along with the rules for its use.
The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision has been tasked with developing an action plan aimed at protecting the snow leopard population and its natural habitat, as reported by the government.
All government bodies, local authorities, and institutions, regardless of their organizational and legal form, are required to comply with this resolution.
The resolution comes into effect upon its official publication.
